French Toast Casserole

Weekend Baking Made Easy! 🍞
Ingredients:
¾ Cup Brown Sugar
½ Cup Unsalted Butter
227g Thick White Sliced Bread, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 Cups Milk
6 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tsp Cinnamon
Method:
Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, stir brown sugar and butter together until the butter has melted and the sugar dissolves, 2 - 4 minutes. Pour the mixture into the baking dish.
Scatter the bread pieces over top.
In a large bowl, whisk together milk, vanilla extract and eggs together until well combined. Pour over the bread and press down with a spatula so that the bread absorbs the liquid. Cover the dish with a cloth and let soak for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
For the topping, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the dish.
Bake for 55 minutes. The casserole dish should be browned and bubbling.
Serve and enjoy!
