Soft Pita Pockets

Baker's Dream Soft Pita Pockets

Think spiced mince, chicken mayo, boerewors, or even leftover roast veggies.


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Water, lukewarm

  • 1 cup Milk, lukewarm

  • 2 Tbsp Oil

  • 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast

  • 2 tsp Sugar

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 1 Tbsp Baker's Dream Cake Wheat Flour

  • 4 ¼ cups Baker's Dream Cake Wheat Flour


Method:

  1. Add water, milk, yeast, sugar, and 1 Tbsp Baker's Dream Cake Wheat Flour to a bowl. Allow yeast to activate for 8 minutes (puffy clouds should form).

  2. Add oil, salt and rest of the flour. Knead until combined.

  3. Grease a seperate bowl with oil and transfer the dough into the bowl. Cover with a plastic wrap and allow to rise until double in size.

  4. Cut the dough into 10 pieces.

  5. Lightly flour a flat surface and roll each piece into thick circles. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and allow to rise for 30 minutes.

  6. Heat a pan over medium heat. Cook each pita for 20 - 30 seconds each side. The pita should puff up.

  7. Transfer to a plate and serve warm. Fill with your favourite fillings!
