Macaroni Bake

Serve it hot, bubbly, and straight from the oven - perfect for feeding the kids!
Ingredients:
250g Macaroni
½ tsp Salt, for topping
2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted, for topping
⅔ Cup Breadcrumbs, for topping
For the Sauce:
4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
⅓ Cup Baker's Dream Cake Flour
3 Cups Milk
3 Cups Cheese, grated
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Garlic Powder
Black Pepper, to taste
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
Cook the macaroni pasta as per packet instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan or ovenproof skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the Baker's Dream Cake Flour and stir constantly for 1 minute.
Add 1 cup of milk, whisking constantly. Then slowly add the remaining milk, whisking until smooth and lump-free.
Add the salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, for 5 - 8 minutes, until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
Remove from heat. Add the grated cheese and stir until just combined (it doesn’t need to be fully melted).
In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, melted butter, and salt for the topping.
Add the cooked macaroni to the sauce and stir to combine. Sprinkle the toppings evenly over the pasta.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
